Abstract
The article substantiates the importance of the reliability and accuracy of research in the field of adult education, the role of which is growing significantly in the conditions of the information society. The author presents his point of view according to the appropriate algorithm, in particular, he proves the feasibility of paying attention to adult education (the economic crisis, demographic changes, large-scale migration processes determined the urgency of acquiring new skills in order to increase competitiveness, employment, social inclusion and active citizenship); reveals the direct meaning of accuracy and reliability in the context of andragogic research (the concepts of accuracy, reliability, reliability and validity in the context of andragogic research are specified); defines comprehensiveness and completeness as a guarantee of trust in andragogical research (obligatory consideration of a set of criteria, in particular, in addition to quantitative indicators, it is necessary to take into account the presence of trained pedagogical staff, the degree of interest of management bodies in the field of education, city authorities in this issue, etc.); reveals the relationship between the accuracy of the terms used and the reliability of andragogic research (the content of terms that are most often used in andragogic research is analyzed, but are not always successfully translated, which creates dissonance in the perception of research results and the adoption of important decisions in the future) and finds out the totality factors that must be taken into account during andragogical research (forms of education recognized by UNESCO in which adults participate, age categories of adults participating in various types of educational activities, the type of statistics used to collect data). The importance of the reliability and validity of andragogic studies at both the theoretical and practical levels is revealed, as their results enable the formulation of accurate scientific forecasts and directions for the development of educational policy and social practice.
