Abstract
The task of the publication is the need to focus the attention of educators and other interested citizens on the possibility of supporting the professional self-determination of students in secondary education institutions in the conditions of a digital society. In order to reveal the indicated direction, the author touches on informational layers related to the field of career guidance and professional self-determination: 1) Career guidance, professional selection, professional selection - the difference in concepts. 2) Challenges of career guidance activities in an educational institution at the current stage. 3) Algorithm of career guidance activities in educational institutions and their participants. 4) Psychodiagnostic career guidance methods, known and innovative. 5) Acquaintance with HORIZON and Futures (future tables) methods of professional orientation forecasting developed by Finnish researchers.
