Abstract

The concept of the New Ukrainian School defines new approaches to the teacher's professional activity. In our opinion, the Ukrainian language and literature teacher should have research competence. We consider the functions defined in the Concept of the New Ukrainian School as leading ones from the standpoint of the renewed image of the teacher-literate. The function of conducting pedagogical research and providing methodical assistance, generalization and introspection of one's methodical experience acquires special importance.
