Abstract
In recent decades, in Ukraine, as in most countries of the world, the number of children receiving hearing aids with cochlear implantation systems has increased rapidly. Extensive experience in the use of cochlear implantation technology has proven its effectiveness in solving a wide range of issues of sensory, cognitive, speech, social, and personal development of children with hearing impairment of the fourth and fifth degree (profound hearing impairment and deafness). The economic feasibility of implant hearing prosthetics is also proven, attention is focused on the dependence of the expected result on the time of detection of hearing impairment (optimal is detection immediately after the onset of acquired impairment and in the first days of life in case of congenital), the beginning of corrective and developmental measures (optimal is the beginning immediately after detection, even before surgical intervention), the time of the operation (the optimal time is the time as close as possible to the occurrence and detection of the disorder) and the nature of postoperative support (optimal is complex, interdisciplinary, systemic) (Ching T., Clark G.M., Dillon N., Henkin Y., Nikopoulos T.P., Liu S., Zeng F.G., et al.). The issue of pedagogical support for children with cochlear implants is the subject of scientific analysis by domestic authors. Factors affecting the hearing and speech development of children with cochlear implants, organizational and pedagogical conditions for optimizing their support were determined, and the technology for the formation of hearing and speech skills was developed (Glazunova S., Zhuk V., Zaika S., Kruglik O., Lutsko K., Shevchenko V., Shepelenko N. and others).
