Abstract
Today, in relation to special educational needs, the focus of attention is shifting from a purely medical model to a biopsychosocial model, which involves taking into account biological, psychological and social (we can specify - sociocultural) components. Currently, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is considering the possibilities of transition from the establishment of disability to the determination (assessment) of loss of functionality, so that thanks to the efforts of a multidisciplinary team of specialists, a person with special needs feels comfortable and is fully involved in all social processes. Thus, medical indicators will no longer have a priority value, but will be considered as one of the interconnected components within the biopsychosocial model. An important aspect is the question of the influence of "factors of the external environment" specifically on psychological and sociocultural processes. In this context, issues related to interaction with persons with sensory impairments, in particular hearing impairments, deserve special attention. Among the environmental factors, we must definitely include the training of medical personnel to differentiate psychological states that may be felt by persons with hearing impairment, which will also play a role in choosing an interaction strategy and additional measures before and during communication between a doctor and a patient with special needs.
