Abstract
Problems of professional development of teachers are singled out. It is noted that in modern science and educational practice, there are a significant number of theoretical approaches to the study of the problem of professional development of teachers, which focus on various aspects. Socio-cultural, individual, communicative, technological, innovative, age-related, contextual, career, interdisciplinary, and competence-based approaches to the professional development of teachers are considered.
