Abstract
The article presents the analysis of the identity problem and its transformation in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which has affected various aspects of people's daily life, and influenced the transformation of both behavioral scenarios and social categorization processes. It is shown that at the root of this war lies a civilizational conflict, it is a war of values and identities. Therefore, the work to overcome the consequences of the war should begin with education, worldviews and values embedded in Ukrainian education, with efforts directed toward the formation and affirmation of civic and pro-European Ukrainian identities. In this context, the educational environment is considered as the space where identities are formed, transformed and interact. The role of educators is highlighted as the broadest stratum that implements state identity policies and creates an educational space aimed at the formation of civic and pro-European Ukrainian identities and social consolidation of society in the conditions of interstate military-political confrontation. The purpose of the article is to highlight the results of the study of the characteristics of the community identities manifestation and trends in their development in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, using the example of the pedagogical community, in which 1294 people participated. As the obtained results have shown, despite the traumatic impact, this war has acted as the most significant catalyst for the activation and strengthening the national and civic identities of representatives of the pedagogical community and a shift in the meaning of belonging to the Ukrainian nation, which is manifested in the increased alienation from the Soviet identity and from Russia as an aggressor country. The results also indicate the importance of education in the life of both individuals and communities, the growing demand for new knowledge, the importance of the members of the pedagogical community recognising the experience gained in the conditions of war, the understanding that the path to unity and the implementation of civilized society values goes through education.
