Abstract

The article reveals certain aspects of the formation of political and public participation of Ukrainian citizens, in particular in countering Russian military aggression, the problems of assessing the motivational aspects of political participation and the formation of behavioural models of citizens. The role of public opinion as a determinant of electoral activity of citizens, their participation in the development and application of e-democracy is shown. The role of referendums as a form of participation in the development of self-governing forms of democratic participation and prevention of protest manifestations as destructive forms of behaviour is revealed. A number of directions are proposed to prevent negative manifestations of public activity and harmonise the development of socio-political processes at the present stage.
