Abstract
The article reveals the content of the educational service for obtaining secondary specialized education in the field of science, systematizes the main psychopersonal characteristics of intellectually gifted children as subjects of education, and characterizes the educational environment, educational process and internal system of quality assurance in a scientific lyceum. The quality of educational service is proposed to be understood as its ability to meet the educational needs of all educational service’s customers and the stakeholder`s requirements and expectations. The direction and the mechanism for improving the quality of secondary specialized education of scientific direction are defined as continuous improvement (achievement of excellence) of the educational environment, educational process and internal system of quality assurance in the scientific lyceum to meet the personal educational needs of students and their parents, as well as the educational needs of the state, reflected in the state standard of general secondary education and the standard of specialized education of scientific direction (in science).
