Abstract
The model educational program "Chemistry. Grades 7–9" was developed on the basis of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education, approved by Resolution No. 898 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated September 30, 2020. The program is labeled "Recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine" (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated August 16, 2023 No. 1001). The author of the program is H. Lashevska, a researcher at the Department of Biological, Chemical and Physical Education of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The goal of teaching chemistry at the level of basic secondary education specified in the program is consistent with the goals of basic secondary education and science education outlined in the State Standard. The implementation of the proposed course within the cycle of subject training of basic secondary education should contribute to the development of the natural abilities, interests, talents of students, education of competent and responsible individuals who respect themselves, family, society, the environment, national and cultural values of the Ukrainian people, take care of them, can consciously, independently and/or in cooperation, acquire and apply chemical knowledge and acquired experience to solve educational and life problems , choosing according to one's interests and abilities the direction of further education and/or acquiring a profession, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine and the world, mastering new literacy. The program is structured according to the mixed principle, which is a flexible dynamic combination of linear, concentric and spiral (with a predominance of the last two) principles of deployment of the content of the educational material. This approach makes it possible to use the advantages and avoid the disadvantages inherent in each individual principle, provides maneuverability in the organization of the educational process by the teacher to achieve the progress of students in mastering skills and gaining experience in learning about nature. Integration of these principles on a contextual basis "chemistry in life, chemistry for life" creates conditions for the application of key competencies and cross-cutting skills formed at the previous and current educational levels for the acquisition of basic chemical knowledge, the application of the acquired knowledge in educational and/or life activities aimed at further development of already acquired competencies and skills.
