Abstract
The article presents an analysis of offers on the labor market of career guidance services for high school pupils, in particular, career guidance work conducted by a practical psychologist and a school social pedagogue, the content of modern career guidance platforms, the services of the State Employment Service of Ukraine, the initiative to introduce career guidance counselors for general secondary education institutions. The author analyzes the problems of insufficient training of pedagogical workers in the field of professional orientation of pupils in the general secondary education system. Emphasis is placed on the importance of establishing an effective career guidance system taking into account modern challenges and needs of the labor market. The state of pedagogical workers training in the field of professional orientation of pupils was analyzed and the main problems complicating the process were identified. In particular, the lack of standardized counselors training in this field, the lack of up-to-date knowledge about the labor market and future professions, as well as the impracticality of some methods of career guidance that do not take into account the individual needs and abilities of pupils, were investigated. Ways to solve these problems are proposed, in particular, the introduction of professional training standards for career guidance counselors, the active use of interactive learning methods and ICT technologies in career guidance activities, as well as the involvement of practicing specialists to provide pupils with real information about professions. The study confirms that effective professional orientation can positively influence the future career of pupils, helping them make informed choices about their professional trajectory. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that in the conditions of changes in the labor market, where new professions and requirements for specialists arise, competent training of counselors in professional orientation that meets the needs of young people is necessary. The recommendations proposed in the article can be used to improve the system of teaching staff training and improve the professional orientation of pupils in general secondary education schools.
