Abstract

Regulatory documents of the governmental, intergovernmental level, scientific and public organizations regarding the strategy of environmental education as a tool for environmental protection have been analyzed. The semantics of the concept of "ecological education", the structure and varieties of the value-activity attitude towards the environment have been specified. Priorities of environmental education in elementary grades are defined, approaches to its provision are illustrated.
