Abstract

To mark the Science Festival, the Laboratory for Psychology of Youth Political Behaviour of the Institute for Social and Political Psychology of National Academy of Educational Sciences held a workshop "Visualization of ideas about a real Ukrainian and a pseudo-Ukrainian" for students of the Pavlo Chubynskyi Academy of Arts. The practical event was organized in order to activate the national and patriotic attitudes of young people. Visualization tools and group discussion methods were used. The workshop was conducted on May 18, 2023, by Iryna Ostapenko, Head of the Laboratory, and Oksana Sknar, Senior Researcher. The projective technique of collages was used to activate the national and patriotic attitudes of young people. One group of students was asked to create a collage representing the idea of a real Ukrainian, and the other group was asked to create a collage representing a pseudo-Ukrainian. The students had to label each visual image in the collage. The choice of images and their arrangement was the result of a group discussion. The methodology allowed us to identify the values represented by the visual images (pictures) and to intensify reflection on national and patriotic attitudes.
