Abstract

The following worldview ideas and key values should be the basis of the organization of research in special education today: the perception and implementation of international approaches and universal human values regarding the observance of human rights, democratic and humanistic norms of the development of the world community, tolerance, non-discrimination, respect for differences (otherness) , recognizing them as a norm, freedom of choice; the priority of the child's interests, the value of childhood and cooperation with the family, emphasis on individual needs and capabilities, strong qualities of the child ("child-friendly space", "actions in the best interests of the child", etc.). It is time to revive / affirm national ideas, initiate and develop new foundations of the national education system (respect for national history, traditions, etc.). At the same time, in the extremely difficult period of wartime, it is important to pay close attention to the psychological state of all participants in the educational process, establish effective communication, reduce the level of anxiety, provide the necessary assistance, etc. Children with special educational needs are the most vulnerable category among education seekers who, in the conditions of martial law, need special support and attention.
