Abstract

The war became a real challenge for educators. During the military aggression against Ukraine, special responsibility rests on philology teachers. It is about updated educational goals, a high level of professional competence. The article analyzes the state of development of research competence and the main approaches to improving the qualifications of teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature during the period of martial law. The place of the teacher's research competence in the scientific-methodical system of post-graduate education institutions is determined. The forms, methods, and technologies of developing the research competence of native language and literature teachers are named. The content of the websites of post-graduate pedagogical education institutes and the content of professional development programs for teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature were analyzed. The importance of developing the research competence of the teacher of Ukrainian language and literature is substantiated. The use of research technology and methods of scientific knowledge contributes to professional self-realization and opens perspectives for personal development, the formation of critical thinking and a scientific outlook. Based on the results of the empirical research, a conclusion was made about the relevance of the problem of developing research competence, about the combination of theoretical and practical components of professional training for the implementation of research activities, which is implemented in the educational process of general secondary education institutions. It was determined that the system of the senior professional school, which is in the stage of its formation, needs an innovative teacher, a researcher, new approaches to the forms, technologies of the organization of the educational process, the content of educational activities. We consider the learning process as research. The use of research-oriented learning technologies contributes to the development of students' scientific outlook and research skills. The generalization of the results of the study convinces of the need to use the scientific and methodological potential of educational institutions (schools/lyceums) for the professional development of teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature, and the creation of a developmental environment.
