Abstract

The purpose of the study is to outline the strategic directions of development of vocational education institutions, identify the main factors that contribute to the popularization of vocational education, factors that ensure the improvement of the quality of vocational training of students in vocational education institutions. To achieve this goal, theoretical and empirical methods, as well as the method of statistical research were used. The research methodology is based on the scientific provisions of the competence, activity, system, environmental, and information approaches. Results. The modern educational process of vocational education institutions requires the implementation of the latest approaches. To this end, it is important to develop a concept for the development of the institution that will reflect the strategic goals and directions of its activities. A necessary element of strategy development is a SWOT analysis to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the institution, its capabilities, and possible external threats. The successful development of a vocational education institution is possible only if it works in concert with potential employers, studies the needs of the labor market, provides the institution with modern material and technical support, high-quality teaching staff, and sufficient funding. International cooperation and participation in European programs play a significant role in reforming the educational process of vocational education institutions. A significant factor in the popularization of vocational education is career guidance, and career counseling is an element of it. The creation of career centers in vocational education institutions is one of the directions of strategic planning. The ability to use digital resources and e-learning tools plays a significant role in the organization of the educational process, so the formation and development of digital competence of participants in the educational process is an urgent need for modern society. Conclusions. As a result of the study, the main approaches to the development of a strategy for a vocational education institution are identified, taking into account the requirements of today. The reasons that hinder the process of training students in vocational education institutions are identified. The main directions of high-quality organization of vocational training of students are outlined.
