Abstract
he theses consider the use of contextual tasks as a means of forming natural and scientific competence of gymnasium students. An analysis of scientific, methodical and educational literature was carried out, chemistry teachers and high school students were interviewed about the frequency and effectiveness of using contextual tasks. The results of the study confirmed the importance of using contextual tasks in the teaching of chemistry, which contribute to the formation of natural and scientific competence and literacy of students. One of the main advantages of using contextual tasks is their ability to stimulate students' interest in the subject and methods of chemistry, which is a key factor in their motivation to master the basics of this science.
