Abstract

The transition of basic and specialized high school to new state educational standards actualizes the issue of modernization of the system of control and evaluation of initial achievements of students. With the organization of formative assessment, scientists and practitioners closely associate reflection, which accustoms the student to a systematic analysis of the results of his own activity. The student is aware of the initial level of his own knowledge and ideas, relevant competencies and compares them with the final level. The survey of ninth-graders gives reason to conclude that most of them are ready for reflection, for realizing the results of their educational activities. The issue of the method of using educational reflection for evaluating the learning outcomes of students in general secondary education institutions requires further development.
