Abstract

This article is a kind of innovative continuation of the training started in the boarding school for deaf children No. 6 in Kyiv based on a review of special educational institutions for deaf and mute children that were created in Ukraine at the beginning of the 20th century. Our attention will be drawn to the figure of N.K. Patkanova, which is directly related to the Kyiv school. It is difficult to overestimate her contribution to Ukrainian deaf pedagogy.
