Abstract

Resilience research is relevant because of the need to withstand stress and traumatic events related to hostilities, socio-economic difficulties, forced relocation of a large part of the population, children separated with significant relatives, etc. The paper discusses the results of a study of the resilience of the educational community, students and their parents two months after the start of full-scale war, conducted from 2 to 6 May 2022. The total number of respondents – 14,556 people from all regions of Ukraine. The article presents the results of psychometric verification of the CD-RISC-10 Connor-Davidson. A reduced level of resilience of all study participants was found. The relationship between resilience and place of residence, forced relocation, subjective sense of security, involvement in various forms of learning (teaching) is presented. Gender differences in resilience have been identified – significantly higher levels of resilience are demonstrated by male students, teachers and parents. Age differences in resilience were recorded: older participants in the study, on average, showed lower resilience rates, while younger ones showed slightly higher results. The supports and problematic moments of the respondents in experiencing traumatic events are described. The results of studying the relationship between the level of resilience of study participants and their emotional orientation are presented. The established differences in the emotional experiences of students, teachers and parents – participants in the study are described. The connection between the emotional experiences and the place of residence of the respondents was established.
