Abstract

The monograph is devoted to issues of the theory and practice of constructing the content of a school textbook of a foreign language. Priority trends in the development of the theory of textbook creation in domestic and foreign pedagogical science were considered, didactic and methodical concepts of textbook content design were investigated, the didactic-methodical essence of its competence-oriented content was determined and substantiated, the system of didactic means of mastering the content was scientifically substantiated, the structure of the textbook was clarified, presented and the author's views on the modern school textbook of a foreign language as a multifunctional tool for the formation of intercultural foreign language communicative competence are interpreted, the author's views on the evaluation of the effectiveness of its content are presented. The monograph is addressed to scientists, teachers of institutions of higher education, methodologists, teachers, authors of textbooks and everyone who is interested in improving the content of school foreign language education.
