Abstract

The section of the collective monograph is devoted to the study of political and psychological features of electoral behavior during the presidential elections in 2019 in Ukraine. The pre-election state of Ukrainian society, its interests, requests for new politicians, and social needs are characterized. Rational and irrational factors affecting the election process were determined, innovative trends in election technologies were analyzed. The main sources of information about political events by voters were determined, the television content of popular television programs and the content of television news were analyzed. Emphasis is placed on the role of emotions and their nature in the perception of information. It is argued that one of the features of the electoral process was the tendency to strengthen irrational knowledge. Emphasis is placed on the need to form new social meanings and political orientations, a coherent and consistent picture of the world. The likely prospects of Ukraine based on the results of the elections are outlined.
