Abstract

It is revealed that the purpose of the Jean Monnet Module “European Teaching Excellence for Students’ Better Performance” (620287-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE), which is being implemented at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of EducationalSciences of Ukraine during 2020-2023, is to get acquainted with the effective practice of developing key competencies and basic skills for lifelong learning in the European educational space. Within the Module, Ukrainian teachers are developing items for the development of reading competence of students based on PISA-2018 test questions. It is expected that the materials of the PISA-formatted Collection of tasks for the development of students' reading literacy “European Teaching Excellence for Students’ Better Performanc” will contribute to the further implementation of competency-based, activity-based and child-centered approaches, which are prioritized within the framework of the New Ukrainian School reform.
