Abstract

The publication substantiates the expediency of creating universities of the third age (UTV) as centers of personal and professional development of older people. The main terms and concepts, general provisions, goals and objectives of the activities of universities of the third age are outlined. The organizational and legal principles of activity, peculiarities of the organization of the educational process are characterized. The features of UTV's leadership and its staff support are outlined. The final positions are outlined. For public activists and activists, education managers, teaching staff of formal and informal education institutions, scientists, the general public, specialists in the field of adult education.
