Abstract

Guiding principles are defined in methodological recommendations; mechanisms and tools are disclosed and characterized (establishment of selection criteria and procedures for attracting conscious applicants to universities; diversification of ways to obtain teaching qualifications; establishment of standard requirements for various teaching professions; implementation of educational standards; introduction of procedures for institutional and programmatic accreditation of higher education institutions; normalization of external and internal support systems quality of pedagogical education) guaranteeing the quality of professional training of pedagogical workers of the countries selected for research; the priority tasks of ensuring the quality of pedagogical education and ways of solving them in Australia, Great Britain, and the United States were studied; the strategic directions of the state educational policy on the regulation of the main factors affecting the strengthening of the quality of professional training of teachers are outlined. Recommendations are given regarding the use of constructive ideas for ensuring the quality of higher pedagogical education in Ukraine, taking into account foreign experience. Methodological recommendations are addressed to teachers and students of higher, specialized higher education institutions, institutions of continuous pedagogical education for use in the process of training and upgrading the qualifications of pedagogical professionals in the field 01 "Education/Pedagogy".
