Abstract

In the article, science and education are considered as factors in the formation of the civilizational subjectivity of Ukraine. To do this, through the prism of the path dependence, the sequence of events in Ukraine that shaped its movement from the free hetman's republic of the 17th century to the present is studied. It is argued that institutional subjectivity is the primary source of overcoming the paradoxical discrepancy between the parameters of the economy and its formal independence.
