Abstract

Signs of similarity between Ireland's past and Ukraine's present provide grounds for using one of the comparative analysis's advantages: extrapolation of one country's historical experience to the future of another. The language of the educational process is one of the aspects of such a comparative study. The study aims to highlight the genesis of the language issue in Irish education in the context of contemporary Ukrainian issues. Emphasis on the language issue in the educational space of Ireland turned out to be decisive for the preservation of cultural heritage, the affirmation of national independence and the mastery of economic self-sufficiency. The Ireland experience shows that the intensification of the Ukrainian-language content of the educational process is a tool for fulfilling a set of tasks: from opposing the "denazification" of Ukraine to paving the way to the European national space. Accordingly, the task of educational scientists is to understand and extrapolate the European experience (as in the case of Ireland) to improve the toolkit of education and upbringing of the future generation of Ukraine.
