Abstract
The article reveals the relevance of the problem of optimizing the mental state of school-age children with varying degrees of intellectual development impairment. The analysis of literary sources, regulatory documents and modern domestic research on the problems of organizing the education of children with special educational needs in the conditions of martial law and the prospects for their provision is presented. The latest trends in the field of domestic school education of children with special needs at the current stage are outlined, which include the introduction of the Concept of a new Ukrainian school, the State Standard of Primary and Basic Secondary Education, the priority of early detection of mental development problems and comprehensive assistance to children with psychophysical development disorders. The problems of organization, educational and methodological support for the education of children with intellectual development disorders, the need to create an effective system of psychological and pedagogical support for children and their families in the conditions of crisis challenges are characterized; the presence of certain psychophysical limitations in children with complex developmental disorders. Presented are modern practices of harmonizing the mental state of students with intellectual developmental disabilities in special school No. 16 in Kyiv, which is a scientific and experimental site of the Department of Education of Children with Intellectual Development Disorders of the Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The issue of organization, provision of complex corrective-developmental and rehabilitative influence on the mental development of children for the purpose of social adaptation and formation of life-necessary skills is highlighted. Attention is focused on the importance of the coordinated work of all specialists of the institution, which involves the involvement of teachers, parents, and the creation of conditions for the continuous improvement of the educational process. Prerequisites of the institution's development strategy are an effective system of methodical, correctional and developmental work, rehabilitation measures, psychological and social support, national and patriotic education, organization of work with parents. Prospects for further research on the outlined issues are presented.
