Abstract
The report presents the results of the study "Theoretical and methodological principles of teaching children with hearing impairments in the conditions of modernization of education", which was carried out by scientists of the Department of Education of Children with Hearing Impairments of the Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine during 2018-2020. The main results are: theoretical substantiation, development and experimental verification of the content and new technologies of teaching children with hearing impairments, in particular: pedagogical strategies that ensure greater individualization of the educational process for children with hearing impairments; a complex of technologies that take into account the specifics of the special educational needs of students, as well as social determinants that ensure the productive interaction of all subjects of the educational process; detailing the organizational aspects of differentiated teaching, meeting the special educational needs of children with hearing impairments; the specifics of implementing a team approach and cooperation technologies; effective assessment tools for students with hearing impairments that promote individual progress and planning; strategies of corrective and developmental influence on hearing and speech development of children with hearing impairments. During the reporting period, in accordance with the thematic plan, approximately 20 scientific works were prepared and implemented (12 were approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine), among them: a collective monograph; 10 teaching and methodical manuals, including a set (program manual) for the system of postgraduate pedagogical education institutions; a set of programs for corrective and developmental work; a series of methodological recommendations.
