Abstract
The article highlights the essence and features of motivation for professional improvement of teaching staff of post-graduate pedagogical education institutions. It is noted that the motivation for the professional improvement of the teaching staff is a set of internal and external motives that encourage the mastery of professional knowledge, skills and abilities. It was found that the nature of motivation depends on the features of the teacher's gradual professional formation, his self-realization in the profession, as well as constant continuous professional development. The conditions that ensure the effective development of motivation for professional improvement of teachers have been determined. It was established that the motivation for professional improvement is a multifunctional and dynamic phenomenon of the professionalization of the andragogue and is formed in the process of his formation as a professional through the realization of needs in the activity.
