Abstract
The article considers the problem of war as a factor influencing the meaning of life of modern adolescents. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, war is defined as an armed struggle between countries, states for territories, resources, spheres of influence, accompanied by the imposition of foreign policy to change the political or social order, denial of freedom, choice and accompanied by economic and human losses. Adolescents who are going through war have been shown to suffer from stress, depression, anxiety, PTSD, loss of identity, introversion, voluntary social isolation, and antisocial behavior. Stress is characterized as the body’s response to strong external stimuli and identified three stages of stress: anxiety, adaptation, exhaustion. Sirens, bombings and shelling have been found to be the biggest stressors for teenagers, even if they are far away; adult panic; various acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks; curfew and wartime restrictions; destruction of residential buildings; the need to be in bomb shelters; information on mass violence, prisoners, torture, loss. For children who found themselves under occupation – its consequences, mass violence, survival in emergencies, constant threats to life, loss of relatives, risks associated with evacuation, memories. The following methods were used in the work: conversations, planning, «Tolerance to Uncertainty» by S. Bandera. It is confirmed that the meaning of life values are a condition for the survival of adolescents during the war through the formation of emotional stability, life planning and taking into account the experience of survival of past generations in war, creating their own survival experience. Family support and psychological and pedagogical assistance of specialists help to increase the level of stress resilience of adolescents during the war. The practical significance of the article is that its materials can be used in the organization of educational work of general education institutions, training of teachers, psychologists, work with parents and pedagogical practice of students.
