Abstract

The theses characterize the content and structure of the textbook "Foreign Literature. Grade 5" by the authors N.I. Bogdanets-Biloskalenko and O.L. Fidkevich. The textbook has been developed in accordance with the new State Standard. According to the goal defined in the State Standard, the selection of the content of the textbook and its structuring took place on the basis of a competence-oriented approach to the study of foreign literature. The main characteristic of the textbook is its practical orientation. A feature of the textbook is the presence of a travel motive. The authors of the textbook adhere to the principle of dialogue with students. Sections of the textbook are organized on the basis of thematic blocks. The textbook received the Stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and is freely available on the website of the Ministry.
