Abstract
This article emphasizes the readers’ attention on the gist of the learning individualization concept and the variety of interpretations. It is underlined that the interpretation of the concept of learning differentiation also takes into consideration students’ individual characteristics. The article provides examples suggested by scientists, stresses the interconnection and describes the correlation between the concepts of the learning individualization and differentiation. Learning individualization is explained as the highest level of differentiation, and the differentiation as the way to implement the individualization. It contains results of the analysis of the scientific and methodical sources which demonstrate Investigation of differences between people getting education and their individual characteristics. The article also describes the author’s thoughts on the separation and ranking of individual characteristics of students which must be considered in the process of preparation and the actual learning process through the use of individualization and differentiation. It underlines the importance of considering the age peculiarities and students and different individual characteristics caused by the biological foundation of a personality, self-awareness and personality orientation, means of activity, etc. Among the individual characteristics appropriate to take into account for planning, organization and carrying out an effective learning process are the characteristics depending on gender, predisposition, abilities, asymmetry of brain hemispheres, temperament, character traits, values and beliefs, etc. Formation of positive motivation for learning, cognitive activity and independence of students, level of educational achievements, cognitive style and realization of cognitive functions are also important aspects to be considered as they reflect on the perception, processing, learning and using educational information by students.
