Abstract

The organization of the process of integration, and then inclusion from a practical point of view, was first raised in Poland in the second half of the 80s of the 20th century. The basis for the discussion was the new concept of disability - the International Classification of Functioning, Limitations of Life and Health (ICF), prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO) and published in 1980. It emphasizes the social nature of the problems of persons with developmental disabilities and declares the so-called social model of disability.
