Abstract
The category of "emotional intelligence" has a controversial ontogenetic origin, as it was studied through the prism of academic intelligence, emotional-volitional sphere, social intelligence and other structures/substructures of personality, etc. Mostly, the concept of "emotional intelligence" was studied due to its conceptual unity with the category of "social intelligence". The defined type of intelligence originates in research and psychological diagnostics of social intelligence in the works of Eysenck, Gardner, and Guilford. It is worth noting that today, the study of emotional intelligence is a large-scale and modern scientific direction. As Oleksienko notes, "this is not only a popular scientific direction, it is a qualitatively new direction of research into the structure of the personality...", in particular, individuals with intellectual development disorders. Today, there are different approaches to what are the components, mechanisms and overall structure of emotional intelligence.
