Abstract

The article analyses the network of vocational pre-tertiary education institutions in the regions and specific population settlements of Ukraine, finds out the contingent of students and defines the profile focus of vocational colleges relevant for future Vocational Junior Bachelors fields of knowledge and specialities. Based on data analysis results from the Unified State Electronic Database on Education and surveys of teaching staff and stakeholders, the detailed characteristics of the vocational pre-tertiary education institutions functioning in the regions of Ukraine were enlightened. An example of analysing the training of middle management specialists in the Odesa region is given. The peculiarities of educational and vocational training programmes for specialists in the speciality “274 Automotive transport” in vocational pre-tertiary education institutions in different regions of Ukraine are revealed. A number of topical issues of Vocational Junior Bachelors training in colleges are identified, and recommendations to improve the quality of vocational pre-tertiary education are given.
