Abstract
The manual presents a systematic description of the bilingual (gestural-verbal) approach to education students with hearing impairments. The periodization of the genesis of the ideas of the bilingual approach is proposed in deaf pedagogy. The results of a comparative analysis of monolingual and bilingual approaches to the organization of the educational environment of persons with hearing impairments are presented. The distinction between the terms "bimodal bilingualism", "gestural bilingualism", "monomodal bilingualism", etc. is substantiated. The features of designing a bimodal-bilingual educational environment are described as the most accessible to students with hearing impairments. The task is characterized and the specifics of the implementation of educational and corrective and developmental work for each of these technologies depending on type of communicative needs, actual and potential level of formation of communicative competence of applicants with hearing impairments.Implementation of the technologies of bilingual education proposed in manual, will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the educational process of deaf and semi-deaf learners education by taking into account the specifics of their communicative needs The manual is addressed to teaching staff of institutions where the deaf and semi-deaf receive their education individuals, teachers of higher education institutions of pedagogical profile, scientists in the field of special education, as well as to everyone who is interested in the issue of gestural and verbal training of deaf and semi-deaf students.
