Abstract
The monograph examines the formation and development of the education system for persons with hearing impairments in higher educational institutions; the prerequisites for raising the educational level of persons of this category are highlighted; the general characteristics are presented and the specifics of the process of teaching deaf and hard of hearing students are revealed; the content and structure of the psychological and pedagogical support of students with hearing impairments is disclosed, the purpose of which is to provide the latter with the latest package of relevant services and the formation of special educational conditions. The organizational and pedagogical conditions that ensure the increase in the effectiveness of education of boys and girls with hearing impairments in higher educational institutions, the main models of the implementation of psychological and pedagogical support of persons of this category in the educational process are substantiated and defined. It is addressed to scientists, deaf teachers-practitioners, students of higher pedagogical institutions.
