Abstract
One of the requirements of the state standard of Basic Secondary Education (2020) is the formation of cultural competence of applicants for education, in particular for applicants of General Secondary Education Institutions with instruction in the languages of national minorities in Ukrainian language and literature lessons in grades 5-6. The implementation of this aspect of educational activity is subordinated to the education of a citizen of independent Ukraine, who, realizing himself as a representative of his nation, is also aware of his citizenship of the state.
