Abstract

The author considers value orientations as a complex integrative motivational and semantic structure of the personality, which characterizes its integrity and orientation and is manifested in goals, ideals, beliefs, life plans, qualities of the personality and its activity. The concepts of "value", "evaluation", "orientation", their interrelationship, as well as the channels through which this connection is carried out and the selection of objects significant for the individual are analyzed. The process of personal differentiation of objects according to their significance is highlighted. It is shown that the values of a person, which form a system of orientations as a set of significant phenomena, objects, qualities, are determined by social norms, norms of a social group, etc. It is emphasized that the value attitude of the subject to the outside world is mediated by a person's orientation to other people, to society as a whole, to the ideals, views, ideas and norms developed by society that prevail in it.
