Abstract

The report presents the results of a study on theoretical and methodological principles of teaching children with hearing impairments under the education modernization, performed by the researchers of the Department of Education of Children with Hearing Impairments of the Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Education and Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine during 2018-2020. The main results are the theoretical justification, development and experimental testing of the content and new technologies for teaching children with hearing impairments, in particular: pedagogical strategies that provide greater individualisation of the educational process for children with hearing impairments; a set of technologies that take into account the specifics of special educational needs of students, as well as social determinants, ensure productive interaction of all subjects of the educational process; detailing the organisational aspects of differentiated teaching, meeting the special educational needs of children with hearing impairments; specifics of the team approach and cooperation technologies; effective assessment tools for students with hearing impairments that promote individual progress and planning; strategies of corrective and developmental impact on the speech development of children with hearing impairments. During the reporting period, following the thematic plan, about 20 scientific works were prepared and implemented, among them: a collective monograph; ten teaching aids, including a set (manual and program) for the in-service teacher training system; a set of programs for correctional and developmental work; a series of guidelines.
