Abstract
The theses emphasize the importance of creative activity of students, the development of their creative abilities in the process of design and technological activities. The main stages of this activity are the stages of design and construction of technical products. It is emphasized that the processes of design and construction have a psychological essence, as well as issues of creative activity of students and the development of their creative abilities. In this regard, it was concluded that technology teachers should have a basic knowledge of the psychology of creativity. A method of teaching students has been developed to design and construct products, develop their creative abilities, which meets the new state standard of basic secondary education and takes into account the peculiarities of students' perception of new material, solving creative problems.
