Abstract

The article presents the results of the analysis of historical and pedagogical sources and legal documents in the field of education; clarified their practical activities in the context of current approaches to school education for children with special needs. The issues of reforming school education for children with special needs in the study period are highlighted. The author reveals the content of the concept of some special definitions for children in need of special conditions for education and training; justified relevance of the problem of development of educational institutions of new types; as an inclusive resource center, inclusive classes, educational and rehabilitation centers, which were conditioned by educational needs, complex developmental disorders of children with special needs, whose activities included the implementation of comprehensive rehabilitation measures aimed at obtaining an education of the appropriate level, development and correction of their violations. The historical and pedagogical works, legal documents in the field of school education are analyzed, that Ukrainian scientists have made a powerful step forward in the issue of opening new educational institutions for children with special educational needs, in particular, inclusive education. Thanks to joint efforts, educational and rehabilitation centers of various types, inclusive resource centers, and inclusive classes were opened throughout Ukraine. It has been established that the theoretical foundations for the creation of educational and rehabilitation centers provided for diversity and versatility. Their special role was to ensure the innovative development of rehabilitation pedagogy. It was established that during the study period there was a large variety of educational and rehabilitation centers and were like a kind of development of secondary education for children with special needs. It is proved that the reform of the studied period was innovative, which is evidenced by the diverse newest institutions/ classes for the provision of correctional and developmental rehabilitation services for children with special needs within a certain educational framework.
