Abstract

The analytical report presents the results of the analysis of legislative acts and regulations that define the key goals, content and objectives of civic education in the content of general secondary education in Ukraine. The existing possibilities of civil parliamentary education in general secondary education institutions by means of invariant and variable component of educational programs are researched and determined. Arguments in favor of civic parliamentary education in general secondary education institutions by means of an elective course for primary, secondary and high school students are presented. Conclusions and recommendations for the wider introduction of civic parliamentary education in the educational process of general secondary and extracurricular education institutions through the inclusion of elective courses in educational programs. The materials can be used by scientists and experts to improve the content of general secondary education, developers and compilers of educational programs for educational institutions, taken into account in the activities of the Educational Center of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in planning and conducting parliamentary education activities for different audiences. The analytical report was prepared by the NGO "Education Policy Development Agency" within the framework of the USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program, which is implemented by the public organization "Internews Ukraine".
