Abstract
The article highlights the practice of honoring the dead teachers in Ukraine in the early twentieth century. Obituaries were analyzed in the first pedagogical journal in Ukraine, «Svitlo», published in Kyiv in 1910–1914, including obituaries by Hryhoriy Sherstyuk (1882–1911), Semen Ivakhnenko (1889–1912), and Hryhoriy Manchuk (1891–1912). It is emphasized that the analyzed obituaries were included in the publication «In memoriam: obituaries on the pages of Ukrainian pedagogical journals of the late XIX - early XXI centuries (based on the funds of the Pedagogical Museum of Ukraine)» (2022).
