Abstract

The abstracts present studies of the educational ideas of Lesya Ukrainka. It is highlighted that in her works Lesya Ukrainka sharply criticized all those who hindered the development of public education, the proper education and upbringing of children and youth. It is shown that the poetess fought for the education of Ukrainian children in schools in their native language, opposed the ban on the best textbooks for students, advocated for folk teachers, for improving their political rights and material and living conditions. It is proved that Lesya Ukrainka opposed the criminal policy of tsarism, aimed at limiting budget allocations for public schools, at oppressing teachers and students; fought for the all-round development of the individual, launched a major cultural and educational activity among the general population.
