Abstract

The article is about inclusive education, in particular the education of children with dyslexia. Some aspects of scientific research of foreign and Ukrainian scientists on this issue are highlighted, the achievements of scientists in identifying, diagnosing, organizing the education of children with learning disabilities are illustrated. The results of the research on the perception by teachers of dyslexia as a scientific concept, as a reality of the modern school are presented. An unsatisfactory state of teachers’ awareness of the peculiarities of teaching children with dyslexia at the level of the educational process at school was revealed. It is noted that teachers have a high motivation to update and replenish professional knowledge regarding the education of schoolchildren with special educational needs, understand the need to create an appropriate learning environment, seek effective ways to communicate with parents of dyslexic children. A specially designed questionnaire was used in the study. The survey involved pedagogical staff of educational institutions of Kyiv and Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, Lviv, Luhansk and Kirovohrad regions. Despite the scientific basis of the problem of diagnosing and teaching dyslexics is actively formed in the Ukrainian scientific and educational space, constantly attracts experience and achievements of foreign researchers of dyslexia, it is only the initial stage of implementation of these achievements. It is noted that in order to meet the identified professional needs, it is planned to develop training modules for teachers in various modern formats in the framework of refresher courses, special courses, trainings, seminars and more. In the future, the urgency of developing forms and methods of communication between teachers and parents of children with dyslexia in order to timely inform about the peculiarities of learning and conditions for achieving the desired educational results, developing common ways of interaction for the benefit of the child. Attention is drawn to the importance of joint action of the state, parents, scientists and teachers as a basis for effective assistance to children with special needs.
