Abstract
The result of resocialization as one of the priority tasks of the penitentiary system of Ukraine is a change in the personal qualities of the convict, which determines his further self-regulating stable social and normative behavior after his release from prison, which determines not only the restoration of his social status, but also his return to society as a full-fledged and a law-abiding member of society. It is emphasized that a superficial attitude to the social and psychological component of the resocialization process leads to the fact that pro-social moral and legal values are perceived by convicts as external, and their internalization does not occur. In this article, the application of spiritually oriented methods of resocialization of convicts is updated. Since the usual means of resocialization (regime, training, social influence, labor, social, educational and psychological work, etc.), as a rule, do not have a significant impact on convicted repeat offenders, who are characterized by the leveling of pro-social values by the values of the criminal subculture. It has been proved that the formation of Orthodox values allows convicts to achieve positive results in the process of their correction and resocialization, repentance and reconciliation, and acquiring the skills of a responsible life. The article presents the results of the introduction of a psychocorrectional program for the formation of Orthodox values among convicted repeat offenders on the example of an existing institution for the execution of punishments. Attention is focused on the results of a survey of convicts who are members of the Orthodox community and participants in the program for the formation of Orthodox values. Attention is drawn to the peculiarities of the interiorization of convicts in the process of passing this program. The importance and effectiveness of spiritually oriented training as an interactive means of Orthodox pedagogy and psychology have been determined. It is noted that convicted repeat offenders, who are permanent members of the Orthodox community and active participants in the program for the formation of Orthodox values, acquire not only new knowledge, but also form the skills of their application, therefore, the forecast of their resocialization seems to be positive.
