Abstract
The article is about the doctor of pedagogical sciences, senior researcher of the Institute of Special Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Nikolay Afazyevich Kozlenko, his way of life, his scientific and methodical activity. The scientist considered one of the main tasks of this type of occupation to correct and develop inherent disorders caused by pathological deviations in the activity of the central nervous system and also closely related to the peculiarities of their mental, intellectual and emotional development. Mostly of all he researched in details the movements of students and the disclosure of ways of their correction in the process of physical activity. He believed that teaching students should be directed to showing them more independence, developing of motor activity, increasing of physical and mental capacity for work, better health, formation of vital movements and motor skills. Nikolai Afanasyevich emphasized the necessity of connection between physical education and mental, moral, labor and aesthetic education, which positively affects not only the physical development of children but also the positive changes in development of cognitive processes of perception, memorization, reproduction, education of positive will qualities, perseverance, purposefulness and patience. Kozlenko has identified four groups of techniques which made it easy for students to learn the special movements: pedagogical means and methodical techniques that promote the awakening and development of pupils of cognitive interest in physical exercises; physical exercises that promote the development of arbitrary movement regulation; methodical techniques that help students to perceive their own movements, their direction, amplitude, velocity; pedagogical techniques that stimulate the development of speech in the process of mastering physical exercises.
