Abstract
Competence approach, as a strategy for the renewal of school education involves, along with determining the amount of knowledge (scientific facts, concepts, patterns, theories) to be studied, it is necessary to determine the questions, what ways of activity to teach students, what experience of activity should be formed or enriched and comprehended by students, what educational achievements students should demonstrate. When compiling programs and textbooks, it is necessary to clearly understand the place of the discipline and its individual topics in the system of natural knowledge, to coordinate in the study of interrelated and basic knowledge and the formation competencies of related disciplines.
